It’s already December and just one month left in 2021.
I went to see the autumn leaves in Kyoto at the end of November.
It was beautiful and I hope all of you could enjoy the autumn leaves together in Japan too.
Does anyone know the traditional month name of December ?
It called Shiwasu (師走) and the meaning of 師 is teacher and 走 means run. Toward the end of the year, Shiwasu means even the teachers would run because everybody becomes busy toward the end of the year. December will definitely be the busiest month of the year. In Japan, we have to do the Oosouji (Big House Cleaning) before 28th December to wipe off dust and welcome the New Year’s good spirit. Then, we have to write a Nengajo (New Year Card) to friends, family, colleagues, business partners, etc. We also have to prepare the decoration of New Year and even Osechi (Special New Year Food) too.
It is getting much colder in Japan now and the best thing to keep warm is eating something warm. I have used matcha green tea to make matcha ramen noodles and onigiri rice ball for my lunch. It is quite simple, prepare some dashi soup and mix it with some matcha green tea. You can adjust your own flavor by adding some other seasonings too.
Everyone must be busy, running around!
